So the last few weeks have been a roller coaster. Autumn has been super duper fussy do to teething. And FINALLY today 8/17 her lower left tooth popped through! She has been testing me for weeks seeing what I'll let her get away with lol. It is funny now but when she's like that I feel as if I'm going to pull my hair out. She had her 9 month well baby visit earlier in the week, she was 18 lbs 15 oz (50th percentile), 28 inches long (75th percentile), and her head 17 inches around (50th percentile). The doctor is very impressed with how she has caught up from being so small when she was born. We had her 9 month pictures the same day and all I can say is wow. We tried a new person, Sabrena Haulter with Captured Beginnings. She was great with Autumn (even though we couldn't hardly keep her still). We've gotten to see a few pictures and I can't wait to see the rest :). We've scheduled a few more sessions with her for 1yr pictures and maternity, which I can't wait for either.
I have been a little down the last few weeks with this pregnancy. I went 2 weeks ago for another ultrasound and found out my cervix had shortned more. I go tomorrow for another one and that'll tell us what to do next. I've been down because I feel like it's my job to get him here safely and healthy, and if I don't it's my fault for not resting enough or being up on my feet too much or etc. I've been trying to keep myself busy with Autumn (which isn't hard to do lol). I'll let everyone know tomorrow what the plan is.

20 Weeks - Half way there
As of 7/28 I am 20 weeks along in this pregnancy! I am trying to keep positive, I'm still getting sick if I don't use my pump (so no getting off that yet). We had our Big ultrasound on the 20th and found out we are having a BOY!!!! We are all so excited :). We've got the room painted and have gotten a few things for our little guy (which I love saying). We're still looking at names and of course we won't be sharing until he's born. A little about the u/s, we found out that even though I've lost weight he is the normal size of a 20 week baby. He has all of the organs one is suppose to have, good movement, good placenta and cord placement. We did find out that my cervix was shorting in length already. They like to see a normal cervical length of 4 (I'm not sure if that's measured in inches or centimeters) but mine measured 2.9 the first time then 3.2 the second time. The tech measured at the beginning and the at the end of the u/s. The tech was freaking out about it the whole time so it clearly worried me (I don't think I got to enjoy the u/s like I did with Autumn). She went to talk to the doctor and see what she wanted to do. I go back for a normal OB appointment on Aug 4th and she wants to do another u/s to measure it again. If it's still getting smaller they'll do a cerclage. What is a cerclage you ask, it's a stitch placed into the cervix to keep it from opening and is normally removed around 36 weeks. They will keep an even closer eye on me to make sure everything is going good. And as you've already guessed, yes I'm worried. I'm worried about the risks, will I really need it, and etc. Well that's it for now, I'll keep everyone updated on what the next u/s shows on Thursday.

Autumn Crawls!!!!
Well it's official Autumn is a girl on the move!!!! Autumn started to crawl yesterday, we had been working with her for almost 2 months to crawl forwards. She would crawl backwards and get mad because she wasn't going towards what she wanted. She's still a little shaky at it but I know in a few days she'll be off and moving faster than I can :) . I also tried giving her some pieces of banana cut into really small bites and she was not having that. I'd give her a little bite piece on a spoon and she'd spit it right back out and make a funny face. We'll just have to try again in a few weeks.
We have been swimming a lot this past weekend. My mom took us to Indy Island (an indoor pool) on Saturday and Matt took us to Perry Park (an outdoor pool) they are both Indy Parks pools and are very baby and kid friendly. Autumn enjoyed both pools, but I think I liked the indoor pool better. I didn't have to worry about sunblock and her getting too much sun. Hopefully we can go again next weekend because Matt is off the whole weekend for my birthday :) .
As for me, I will be 18 weeks along in this pregnancy on Thursday!!! Almost half way there but still getting sick so I had to go back on my Zofran pump. I started to feel our little one move about 2 weeks ago. Matt was able to feel the baby Friday for the first time. I have to say feeling the baby move is one of the only things I enjoy being pregnant, along with hearing the heart beat. I've decided this past week that my body hates being pregnant :( I have to say I get jealous of the women who have these perfect pregnancies, they never had morning sickness and if they did it's only a few times and say "it wasn't that bad". Or they had no problems and really do have that perfect pregnancy. I felt this way when I was pregnant with Autumn too. Sorry if I'm being too honest but that's just me and how I feel . I have also started my 17P injections almost 3 weeks ago. I will get these every week until 36 weeks. They are shots of progesterone, which are natural hormones that your body produces in high levels when you're pregnant that keep your uterus from contracting and your cervix from softening and dilating. When we were having Autumn we found out that my body doesn't produce enough and this is why I was having preterm labor. These shots give me a 35% less chance of preterm labor. They have no side effects to mom or baby because it's a natural hormone you produce. We have our big ultrasound on the 20th (less than 9 days away). We haven't decided if we're going to find out what we are having. Guess we'll just wait for the question by the ultrasound tech and decide then. We really haven't been looking at names as much as we did with Autumn. I can't decide if it's because we are busy with Autumn or if it's because it's such a pain to look at baby names lol. I really don't like looking for baby names because Matt and I are so picky as to what we like.

Zofran pump, Matt's surgery, and Autumn!!!!
~Zofran Pump~
I got my Zofran pump a week ago today, and I'll start off with telling you what it is. Zofran is a nausea drug. The Zofran that I'm taking is in liquid form that is administered through this pump that is like an IV. Only difference is it doesn't go into a vein, it's just a little catheter that goes either into your stomach or thigh. The pump puts the meds into my body every few minutes and that adds up to 1mg per hour. If I'm feeling really sick or get sick, I can give myself a dose of 1mg additional every 6 hrs. A home nurse came to the house with all the stuff I needed and showed me how to use it. The first day I got it the home nurse put it into my stomach and I had the pump on that evening and through the night. When I woke up my stomach hurt so bad from where it was attached to me. So I took it out after I ate. I then had to do the brave thing and attach it back to me lol. I tired my stomach but it was still so sore, so I decided I'd try the thigh. The nurse said people normally got the sore spots in their thighs (a side affect from the drug). I did the deed and stuck myself with a needle (The catheter is what covers the needle and once you get the needle all the way in, you hold the butterfly wings down and pull the needle out. Then your all set to go) and what do you know it didn't even hurt. Haha I did the unthinkable (at least to me) and it was a piece of cake. Now for the rest of the week I put it in my thigh and have yet to get the sore spots! I guess there's more fat in my thigh than stomach.
So you ask, "Rachael, how are you feeling? Does this work?" And I say, it's amazing!!!! I haven't gotten sick in over a week, I can eat whatever I want and feel great! I'm picking up weight now. I've been able to eat and drink milk products, which I couldn't do the whole pregnancy with Autumn and this pregnancy because they would make me so sick. I've been able to get up and get my day started earlier than I was. Normally I'd get Autumn up, change and feed her, then I'd get sick and then try to eat something light and get sick again and again and again, then it's be 1 or 2 before I could do anything (either do the things around the house or go out and do my to do list). Now I can start my day off earlier and have time to rest or whatever else. The plan is to use this another week or two and be able to function without it. To get me off the pump we just lower the amount that is given to me until it not needed. We have probably met our insurance deductible for the rest of the year in one week of using this. Plus side to that everything else will be paid at 100% by the insurance. Down side is Matt or I will have to probably sell an organ to pay the bill (our deductible for a calendar year is 3000.00) lol.

Matt had his surgery yesterday to remove the mass in his cheek along with his 4 wisdom teeth. The wisdom teeth were a breeze to get out they said (so easy to get out that he was only numbed and WASN'T out to sleep). They had to take a molar out to get to the mass in his cheek (they were thinking the tooth was the cause of the mass). The tooth came out so easy that it scared the surgeon at first, Matt said. The tooth was in good shape except the tips of the roots. The root tips were infected, Matt said it looked like a jelly fish was attached the the ends (eww). The mass in his cheek ended up just being puss and a little blood from the root tips. So they gave him pain meds and antibiotics. Matt has to go back in two weeks (first week of July) to get everything checked out. He was in no pain yesterday. Matt went back to work today and has been feeling normal all day. What a trooper!!!!!!

Our little Autumn is doing so well!!!! She just loves to eat :) she is now using a sippy cup. I can't believe that next month she'll be 8 months old. Autumn is still only crawling backwards, but is very close to going forward. Her arms just need to get a little stronger. She's still working on getting her front top two teeth, they are so close to coming in that we can feel them trying to break through her gums. She's still sleeping 11 hrs a night. We've got her on a very good schedule that includes a morning and evening nap. We are doing the summer reading program at the library. Autumn loves to be read to, and loves flipping the pages.

Matt's visit to the Oral Surgeon
Matt's appointment went very well today. We went to an Oral Surgeon today because he has a mass that you can see on his lower cheek (right on the jaw). They think it's an abscess that is caused by a tooth. They said it looks to be good news because it is free moving (which means you can touch it and it wiggles instead of being attached to the bone which could mean possible cancer). So He will be going in on 5/26 to remove the tooth and clean out the tooth pocket and bone and send the mass off to be looked at. He will also be getting his wisdom teeth removed at the same time (they're all through the gums). He was going in to our dentist on 6/2 to get them removed. They said it would be easier on him. And it is going to end up costing us less money too 
. So we feel very good about it all and so does the Oral Surgeon. Matt is going to be awake during the process so they can talk to him on what they're finding and what the mass looks like (his choice). We will be glad when this is over, we were worried at first for not nothing what the mass was and having members on both sides of our families having cancer. We are very blessed to have gotten into the Surgeon so quickly and get this taken care of.

Go bye Infant Car Seat :)
We have finally transferred to the big car seats now!!!! No more infant car seat :) Autumn has learned to sit up all by herself (well more the most part), So that means we don't have to use the infant car seat any more. Which I'm so happy about because she was getting so heavy to carry. We went to Target last night and she got to ride in the shopping cart for the first time. She loved it!!!
Autumn is growing so fast it's unbelievable. She's starting to put herself to sleep. She's also getting her own little personality, and she has also gotten her laugh which just warms my heart every time I hear it. She loves being down in the floor playing with her toys and rolling around. Autumn is also getting very good at reaching for everything.
